Food Safety

fs_logo.jpgToday's consumers want to know that the food they buy is safe, no matter where it was grown, raised or processed. Retailers, too, want the same assurances, and are requiring suppliers to demonstrate that they are providing safe, quality food that meets consumers' expectations. Retailers and wholesalers worldwide have identified the need for consistent, internationally accepted food safety and quality management systems.

The Food Marketing Institute is excited to offer a clear solution - the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative, an organization representing over 70% of food retail revenue worldwide, the SQF Program is based on the principles of HACCP, Codex, ISO and Quality Management Systems.

The SQF Institute administers a rigorous, reliable, independent certification program, including standards for all food commodities from farm to retail, third-party auditing and training. SQF is designed to provide benefits to suppliers, retailers, and most of all, to the consumer.

Dovex is SQF2000 certified. SQF is an intense HACCP based program that includes several building blocks of pre requisite programs:

GAP - Good Agricultural Practices

Dovex orchards are all farmed using SQF1000 standards. This includes responsible pest and weed management, ongoing worker hygiene and safety training, adjacent land tracking and documented record keeping.

GMP / GHP - Good Manufacturing / Handling Practices

Dovex employees all receive ongoing safety and hygiene training. Production Supervisors are SQF certified

HACCP - Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point

Recognized HACCP Training is training that meets the CODEX guidelines:

The SQF Program requires SQF Experts and SQF Auditors to be registered with SQFI and that they meet the relevant Criteria outlined for SQF Experts and SQF Auditors. One of the criterion is that they successfully complete Recognized HACCP Training.
