Orchards

Dovex Fruit Co. orchards represent our connection with the land here in the Pacific Northwest. Over 3,900 acres of apples, pears and stonefruit stretch from the Columbia Basin to northern Chelan County covering our area’s best growing regions and microclimates.

Most of our orchards are farmed using organic horticultural techniques. This is not an easy method nor it is the least costly, but we feel it’s the right thing to do. Interestingly, many of the horticultural measures, for example in pest control, that we have developed in our organic orchards, increasingly have uses in our conventional orchards.

Owning your own orchards enables a level of traceability that is not possible with a more diffuse, checkerboard system of orchard supply that has and continues to be the dominant model in most fruit growing regions.
